Follow your Plan, Not your Mood

Easier said than done right?!

Motivation isn’t something we just wait for, its something we have to create! Motivation is created by trying things out and gaining a sense of achievement, purpose or pleasure from doing the activity!

If you’re struggling with following your plans here are a few things you can do:

– Have a friend/family member or coach hold you accountable (we’re less likely to avoid things with consequences)

– Reward yourself with something after you’ve completed your plan

– Start Small! Don’t just jump into an activities at your 100% rate, if you’ve struggled with following your plans for awhile – you’re setting yourself up for failure and will likely crash and burnout!

Start at a 50% rate, set small achievable goals for now and gradually increase them over time!
(Think of it like going to the gym – you don’t just start at the heaviest weight if you’ve not been in awhile, you build your muscle back up using lighter weights)

Remember your mind is also a muscle that will benefit from the same process
