Founder – Jaydee Shamsuddin-Roberts
I am a Mental Health and Wellbeing Enthusiast and Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
Psychology has always been an interest of mine from a young age, I’ve always had the desire to understand myself and more importantly those around me. Growing up from a deprived community of struggle and mental health difficulties I recognize the role generational trauma and lack of psychoeducation, especially in ethnic-minority communities, can play.

The fear of judgement when it comes to seeking support is something that has been developed long before us and is ancestorial. Yet it’s something that can keep others and has previously kept me from reaching out.
As someone who has both accessed and now works in traditional psychological therapies, I value their importance as seeking support has been life changing for me. However it’s important to recognise traditional western psychology isn’t always the answer. Managing your mental health and wellbeing looks different for everyone, leaning into holistic practices and spirituality is what helped me manage mine when I feared judgement. I’ve learnt through my own and the observation of others journeys of managing my mental health that healing really does look different for everyone, and is often a combination of lots of different things.
I created Shades of Psych to provide psychoeducation and awareness on the importance of managing your mental health.
As I develop further into my career of psychology and wellbeing my purpose is to provide others with life changing skills to manage their own mental health and to the stop generational impacts in its tracks.
One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to healing, which is why I am determined to provide psychoeducation and support to others with a variety of methods of healing and what you can do to improve your own mental wellbeing.
Generational trauma, negative patterns and repetitive cycles, all of that will end with me and it can end with you too.
